Member Spotlight - Sidney J. Furie

"The truth is, whether your film is about the great mythological character you have to do right, or it's a little movie that nobody ever heard of, you still approach it like it's the most important thing in the world. But failing goes with the territory. Filmmakers are like gunslingers, and you don't win every duel." - Sidney Furie

Sidney J. Furie was recently awarded the 2010 DCG (Directors Guild of Canada) LIFETIME ACHEIVEMENT honor in Toronto. Some of his best known credits include “The Appaloosa” with Marlon Brando; “The Boys in Company C”; “American Soldiers;” “Four Horsemen” and “Lady Sings the Blues “with Diana Ross that went on to receive five Academy Award nominations. At the young age of 77, Furie directed “Conduct Unbecoming” (2010), starring Michael Ironside and Corey Sevier, which is currently in post production.
